Advanced Manufacturing Leadership Forums are being formed for the purpose of promoting the contribution of the advanced manufacturing community to improvement of the productivity of the US economy, currently and in the future.
Membership
Forums consist of senior level executives of organizations who support the mission and activities of NACFAM at the Advanced Manufacturing Leader membership level. NACFAM membership at this level is available by calling Bryan Borlik, Director, NACFAM at 202.216.2743. Entry-level membership is also available.
Functions
Forums will develop a consensus building process culminating in a strategic framework, action recommendations and pathways for implementation for consideration by industry and government policymakers. In developing the framework and recommendations, Forums will:
¢
Examine the productivity fundamentals for manufacturing companies with emphasis on the role of technology and workforce quality.
¢
Assess the relative influence and importance of Federal State and local government policy and programs.
¢
Evaluate policies and strategies that will enhance the productivity contribution of the advanced manufacturing community to the global, national and regional economy.
¢
Implement methodologies for educating and engaging public and private leaders on the findings, conclusions and recommendations of Forums.
Forum Resources and Process
The detailed work of Forums will be accomplished through the research support of NACFAM staff, contracted research, and resources contributed by Forum members. NACFAM may create specialized advisory groups and task forces from time to time to support Forum activities.
Forums may chose to establish Forum working groups focused on a specific issue or thematic area. Forums may convene meetings, events and specialized forums at various locations around the country for the purpose of information gathering, membership recruitment, consensus building and implementation of recommendations.
The work resulting from these activities will be forwarded to the full Forum for its consideration. Forums will accept recommendations and issue policy-related reports by consensus. NACFAM will provide the staff level coordination for the entire process.
