We’re excited to share a sneak preview of QuickBooks 2006. We’ve redesigned QuickBooks to help you get more done, faster. Our new Customer and Vendor Centers let you see your entire business relationship with a customer or vendor in one glance. And our new Home page lets you navigate more quickly with key tasks no more than two clicks away.

Every time you go to your Home page, you’ll see how things stand in your business. Choose to see your latest account balances, updated automatically as you do work in QuickBooks.

A simple setup interview will help customize your Home page to make it even better. Functions you don’t need are taken out of your way. If you ever need to perform new functions such as inventory or payroll, you can easily add those functions to your Home page at any time.

NEW! All your vital customer information on one screen

With our new Customer Center, contact information, transaction histories, and balances are right there for you. You’ll see all your customers and exactly what they owe you. Click on a customer’s name, and you’ll immediately see all the activity you’ve had with them. You’ll also see all their pertinent information (phone number, fax number, and payment terms) without having to go to different screens. If you notice they’re past due, getting in touch with them is a snap. New business? Initate estimates, invoices and other transactions with customer information already in place. With the new Customer Center, you’ll know and understand your customers like never before.

NEW! Easy access to key vendor information

Our new Vendor Center gives you an unprecedented look at where your money is going. See in one simple screen all your vendors and exactly what you owe them. A click on a vendor’s name will show you your entire history with that vendor. So without running separate reports or going to different screens, you can see exactly how much business you’re doing with each individual vendor. You can also sort your bills by due date so you can stay on top of your finances. If you need to talk to a vendor, click on their name and you’ll see all their contact information. If a vendor calls you to follow-up on a payment they haven’t received, you can quickly look up the bill, when you paid it and the check number you paid it with. It’s easier than ever to provide your vendors the information they need.

Easily generate customized reports to see exactly how your business is doing

With QuickBooks, the status of your business will never be a mystery. You can always see just what’s happening by generating clear and specific reports. You can see Profit and Loss, Cash Flow, Unpaid Invoices, Sales Reports, Balance Sheets, and much more. Know in an instant which facets of your business are most profitable. And if you’re wasting money somewhere, you’ll know it.

Because every business is unique, QuickBooks gives you over 120 tailored reports to show you different aspects of your business performance. There’s even a Report Navigator to help you choose the specific report that shows the information you’re looking for. With QuickBooks, you can easily customize reports focusing on specific information such as address, Social Security number, account number, credit limit or terms. You can also create custom groups of reports, and print them out all at one time.

QuickBooks works easily with Excel, Word and Outlook contacts¹

Easily transfer business reports and lists to and from Excel. You can export your QuickBooks data to new or existing Excel spreadsheets without any retyping and Excel automatically applies existing formulas to the new data. Groups of vendors or customers can be transferred from Excel to QuickBooks in one easy step.

Use your QuickBooks data to easily create and print letters and envelopes in Word. Simply select a group of customers, vendors, or employees and the appropriate QuickBooks data will be automatically input into a Word letter for each recipient. You can even turn a QuickBooks invoice into a personalized letter in Word with just a few clicks.

With QuickBooks, you can also synchronize contacts with Microsoft® Outlook¹. Quickly e-mail customers and vendors from Outlook without having to re-enter contact information. And, if contact information for a customer or vendor changes, you won’t have to update it in multiple places.

For more specialized tasks, QuickBooks has an extensive community of developers who have built over 400 applications that work with QuickBooks.¹ Your data is seamlessly shared with these applications to provide a range of add-on functionality, without ever having to enter data twice.

Work with customers with multiple e-mails and shipping addresses more easily

Tasks like shipping and invoicing have never been easier. Store up to 200 shipping addresses per customer and just click on the one you want to use for a particular order.

It’s also now easier to e-mail multiple parties -- to communicate to both your employees in your company and customers. You can store multiple e-mail addresses per customer and set default “copy” (cc) e-mail addresses by customer. Also, a “blind copy” (bcc) field has been added to QuickBooks e-mails and you can set companywide default e-mail addresses to pre-populate these fields.
